A typical day as a computer science student at the University of Washington might start with an early morning lecture on the lower north side of campus, in the Paul G. Allen Center for Computer Science & Engineering. After class, many students make the short walk to the nearby UW Engineering Library. The Bill & Melinda Gates Center for Computer Science & Engineering is also located in this area and hosts several CS classes, club events, and research facilities. These short distances between class, home, study time, and extracurricular activities make The Standard at Seattle a popular off-campus apartment for students enrolled in this major.
A typical day for students studying biology, chemistry, nursing, or another health-related subject may begin in the Health Sciences Education Building. Biology students can head to the nearby Life Sciences Building for additional classes, labs, and department resources.
